This is NOT a Star Wars blog.

While I love the movies, have even read a couple novels and comics over the years, this is a blog about a variety of things separated appropriately:

Current Events – anything that’s happening in the here and now. (No big surprise there.)

Politics – Yes. I am a republican. And I also like to eat puppies and kittens with hot sauce and fava beans . These are essays about my opinions on all the political issues I care about…and some I don’t.

Comics – I am a comic-book (graphic novel? Who knows what to call them these days.) geek. This section will have occasional reviews and essays on comic-related topics.

Western PA (that’s “Pennsylvania” for the international audience) News – As I do live in western PA, this contains my opinions on local/regional topics. I’ll even include some articles on my favorite sports teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Stories – My concepts for various comic book series in short story format. While I enjoy the superhero genre, my own stuff edges more into science fiction.

Miscellaneous – Anything that doesn’t fit into the above categories.

I also realize that certain articles will fit into two or more categories. When that happens I will try to post them appropriately.

So who is this guy anyway?

I’m a western PA native, “30-ish”, married (very happily, sorry ladies), more or less average guy with very strong opinions, thoughts and ideas on any number of topics. Which also answers the inevitable “why am I doing this?” question. Not only will this site serve as a platform to express my ideas and opinions, but I’d like it to evolve into a place of civil discourse, something that is in short supply in the USA and especially on the Internet.

DISCLAIMER: One thing you won’t find here is information about my job/career. I’ll keep it simple: I work for a mid-sized company, in a good position and have nothing bad to say about my employer. The closest to anything related to my job I will post will be in relation to politics and other current events. (i.e. “A guy I work with said “x” about “y.”)

DISCLAIMER THE SEQUEL: I’m also going to avoid mentioning much about my personal life as well. Thankfully I have a supportive wife and come from a very supportive family. However, I don’t want this to turn into some sort of online diary about the dramas in my life. If you blog and enjoy that sort of thing, that’s fine. It’s just not my thing.
